Additional Information

Dr. Delesa Franklin is a dynamic educational leader, professor, and department chair with a passion for equity, innovation, and student success. As the founding Principal of the Young Women’s College Preparatory Academy, Houston ISD’s first all-girls STEM magnet school, she has championed opportunities for underrepresented students in science, technology, engineering, and math. With a proven track record as a former School Support Officer overseeing numerous campuses, Dr. Franklin now serves in higher education, mentoring aspiring leaders and contributing to university wide initiatives to enhance graduate enrollment and academic excellence. She and her husband Willie are active members of Lilly Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where they remain rooted in faith and service.
