Both the boys give Chatsworth a big thumbs up for the atmosphere. The ability to socialise and meet each other at break times. One of the stand out advantages for me is the attention given by the teachers. The kids are not lost in a vast system but are each able to receive the engagement and support they need, when they need it. Sometimes this is lost in schools with 1000s of students and large class sizes.
The biggest reason for keeping our children here is that it's a small school where every teacher knows every student. All the subject teachers understand the potential of each child and know them on a personal level, something that's not possible in a school with big student numbers in each grade. The school has a friendly atmosphere and gives me confidence that my children are safe and taken care of well.
The daily schedule at Chatsworth is student-led and inquiry-based, so students ask questions and then research the answers. The K levels are especially unique because of their small size and the topics covered – learning about Singapore, recreating an MRT station, learning what makes a community, shapes, phonics, numbers, and so much more! While it’s different from traditional worksheets, we know that learning is happening from the projects we get to see.
